The work of Lea Pesch is one built in memories and dialogues - that of the bodily and emotional, partially her own, but more directly that of a collective experience - is what I feel at my most intimate completely mine or is it accounted reaction to a visible world? Throughout her show titled ‘Intimacy’ Pesch draws connection to what is hidden and shared amongst us by using bodily abstractionist objects and paintings to search for where within our selves are we most true. Which parts reflect and which parts hold. Pesch aims to answer these questions while asking more in the same breath; much like her mouth motifs which act as both orator and reciever. As an audience experiencing the work we are asked to consider which parts we constitute to be our most intimate, and to what extent are they the result of a dialogue between our interiority and external experiences.
