zine launch + reading night by madeleine pollard

madeleine pollard will present her first zine, 𝔭𝔢𝔞𝔯𝔩𝔰, alongside readings on the theme of tenderness by ruhaina sissoko, liam li and aalia iraki ˚☽˚｡⋆ 

this reading night is the first in a new series at backhaus, inviting people to share work (their own words or words they love) around a theme. the series is aimed at shy writers in particular ~ anyone with half-finished poems in their notes app, any group chat essayists, anyone with a head full of opening sentences but nowhere to put them, etc. the texts shared can be anything from complete poems and paragraphs of novels, to snippets of song lyrics and u-bahn graffiti.

the focus of this launch night is on our programmed speakers. following reading nights will be open to contributors ꩜
