Permission To Try

Permission To Try brings together Club 707 (Paris), JumpstArt (Rotterdam), and Backhaus Projects (Berlin) to support independent creatives through artistic mobility and peer-to-peer learning. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, the project creates opportunities to expand horizons, exchange ideas, and build connections across borders.

We began at Rotterdam Art Week with Permission To Talk: a full day of panels exploring creative independence, accessibility, community building, and working across borders.
You can watch the panels here:

PERMISSION TO TALK #1 - TOWARDS CREATIVE INDEPENDENCE: THE ART OF MAKING A LIVING

PERMISSION TO TALK #2 - ART AS BASIS FOR COMMUNITY BUILDING: WHAT ABOUT PEER-TO-PEER?

PERMISSION TO TALK #3 - ACCESSING CULTURAL RIGHTS: INCLUSION & DIVERSITY

Next came Permission To Meet, a weekend in Paris dedicated to discovering the local artistic ecosystem, learning from one another through creative workshops, and connecting with international creatives.

The project now culminates in Gatherings, a collective exhibition in Berlin bringing this year of exchange into a shared space.
